Privacy Policy
About our privacy policy
SportsHero cares a great deal about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need to provide (and improve) our services, and we handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services offered on it by SportHero.
These terms are valid from 7 March 2025. When a new version is published, all previous versions are no longer valid. This privacy policy describes what data we collect about you, what we use this data for, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect it against misuse and what rights you have regarding the personal data you have given us.
If you have questions about our privacy policy, please contact our privacy contact person. You will find the contact details at the end of this privacy policy.
About data processing
Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), which security techniques we use and who can see the data.
Web hosting
Hostinger
We use web hosting and email services from Hostinger. Hostinger processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services. This is not personal data. Hostinger has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent loss and unauthorised use of your personal data. Hostinger is bound by confidentiality under the agreement.
Email and mailing lists
MailChimp
We send our email newsletters with MailChimp. MailChimp will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically via our website, you will find the ‘unsubscribe’ link. Use it and you will no longer receive our newsletter. MailChimp stores your personal data securely. MailChimp uses cookies and other internet technologies that show whether emails are opened and read. MailChimp reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share information with third parties.
Hostinger
We use the services of Hostinger for our regular business email. This party has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and corruption of your data and ours as far as possible. Hostinger has no access to our mailbox and we treat all our email communication as confidential.
Payment processors
TargetPay
To handle (some of) the payments in our webshop, we use the TargetPay platform. TargetPay processes your name, address and place of residence and your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. TargetPay has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. TargetPay reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymised) data with third parties. If you apply for a deferred payment (credit facility), TargetPay shares personal data and information about your financial position with credit assessors. All the safeguards above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of TargetPay’s services for which it uses third parties. TargetPay does not keep your data longer than permitted by the statutory periods.
Reviews
WebwinkelKeur
We collect reviews via the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you must provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this data with us so that we can link the review to your order. WebwinkelKeur also publishes your name on its own website. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to ask for more details about your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They use this data only to invite you to leave a review.
WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to use third parties to provide its services, and we have given WebwinkelKeur permission to do so. All the safeguards above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of the services for which WebwinkelKeur uses third parties.

SnelStart does not use your personal data for any purposes other than those described above.
Purpose of data processing
General purpose of processing
We use your data only to provide our services. This means that the purpose of processing is always directly related to the order you place. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we want to use it to contact you later – other than at your request – we will ask for your explicit permission first. Your data is not shared with third parties, except to meet accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound by confidentiality under the agreement between them and us, or by an oath or legal obligation.
Automatically collected data
Data that our website collects automatically is processed to further improve our services. This data (for example your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.
Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations
In some cases, SportsHero may be legally required to share your data in connection with a government tax or criminal investigation. In such a case we are obliged to share your data, but we will object to this within the options the law gives us.
Retention periods
We keep your data for as long as you are a customer of ours. This means that we keep your customer profile until you tell us that you no longer wish to use our services. If you tell us this, we will also treat it as a request to be forgotten. Due to applicable administrative obligations, we must keep invoices containing your (personal) data, so we will keep this data for as long as the applicable period runs. However, our staff will no longer have access to your customer profile and the documents we produced for your order.
Your rights
Under applicable Dutch and European law, as a data subject you have certain rights regarding the personal data processed by us or on our behalf. Below we explain what these rights are and how you can exercise them. In principle, to prevent misuse, we only send copies of your data to the email address we already have on file for you. If you want to receive the data at a different email address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to verify your identity. We keep records of completed requests. In the case of a request to be forgotten, we record anonymised data. You will receive all copies of data in the machine-readable format we use within our systems. You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at any time if you suspect that we are using your personal data incorrectly.
Right of access
You always have the right to view the data that we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can send a request to this effect to our privacy contact person. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all data to the email address we have on file, with an overview of the processors that hold this data, stating the category under which we have stored it.
Right to rectification
You always have the right to have the data that we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you corrected. You can send a request to this effect to our privacy contact person. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you confirmation that the data has been corrected to the email address we have on file.
Right to restriction of processing
You always have the right to restrict the processing of data that we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can send a request to this effect to our privacy contact person. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you confirmation to the email address we have on file that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.
Right to data portability
You always have the right to have the data that we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you transferred to another party. You can send a request to this effect to our privacy contact person. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send copies of all data about you that we have processed, or that other processors or third parties have processed on our behalf, to the email address we have on file. In such a case, we will most likely no longer be able to continue our services, because the secure linking of data files can then no longer be guaranteed.
Right to object and other rights
In certain cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of SportsHero. If you object, we will immediately stop processing the data while your objection is being handled. If your objection is justified, we will make copies of the data that we process (or have processed) available to you and then permanently stop the processing. You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in a way that makes this right apply. If you believe that we do, please contact our privacy contact person.

This processor may be legally required to give access to this data under applicable laws and regulations. We collect information about your browsing behaviour and share this data with Google. Google may interpret this information in combination with other datasets and in this way track your movements on the internet. Google uses this information to offer, among other things, targeted advertising (AdWords) and other Google services and products.
Third-party cookies
Where third-party software solutions use cookies, this is stated in this privacy statement.
Changes to the privacy policy
We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. However, you will always find the most recent version on this page. If the new privacy policy affects the way we process data we have already collected about you, we will inform you by email.
